Activities - In Centre

In Centre Activities

The Odell Centre prides itself on the wide range of activities available to our members and ensure we make every effort to offer activities that appeal to members of all ages, interested and suit all abilities.

Just some of our in centre activities are below:-

Pamper Sessions

Our Pamper Room is run by a member of staff who is a trained hairdresser.  Our members can enjoy having their hair done, having manicures or pedicures and using the foot spa.

Woodwork Room

We have a fully equipped woodwork room where we hold regular sessions for our members to make products that they can take home.

Crafts

Various craft sessions run every day, which include sewing, knitting, card making, jewellery making and drawing.  Costumes and scenery for all our performances are made in the centre by our members.

Arts

Our very talented artists also create wonderful art display boards throughout the centre.

Music

Every Thursday is a music and dancing afternoon.  Two 'music men' visit the centre to perform to and with the members.

Staff have also devised a system of using colours to represent the notes in music for Bell Ringing, ensuring that everyone can take part and enjoy.

Friday afternoons we currently have Singing For Wellbeing with the WEA.

Zumba

Wednesday mornings the centre is buzzing with the Zumba sessions.  We have a fabulous instructor who comes and delivers sessions suitable for all abilities.

Other Fitness

We also have other fitness classes throughout the week, which we can change to ensure that members are getting a full range of fitness - these include Tai Chi and Dance for Wellbeing.

Drama

The Odell Centre enjoys taking part in the annual Open Stage Concert, held each Spring at Stourport Civic Centre.

We also pride ourselves on our own drama productions which take many months of rehearsal and preparation and also working with WEA on external drama productions.

Gardening

In 2016 our garden had a make over, we now have a poly tunnel to grow our own flowers and vegetables, raised beds, vegetable plots and also a Pergola with seating and table for outdoor activities.

Cooking and Baking

Baking sessions are held every Wednesday with a Sweet Treats session and on Fridays where members bake various types of sponge which they take home. Every year they make The Odell Christmas Cake for the raffle.
